All electronic or automatic garage doors have a bypass that will allow you to open it manually. Pull the emergency release cord toward the door. Manually move the garage door and return to down position. Once you are done maneuvering your garage door and are ready to re engage the automatic door opener please return the garage door back to the down position.

This becomes necessary when there is a power failure or for some reason you lose your remote. Pulling on this rope will put the garage into manual mode so if the door is up it might come crashing down. Step 2 will allow you to freely move the garage door open and close. This disengages the electric drive from the door and you can manually open and close it.

Walk over to the door to push it up manually. Pull the red cord down firmly once to manually release the door s locking mechanism the opener will make a clicking noise. If you experience a lose of power while your door is in the up position please call your local overhead door company. Do not try to pull the door using the manual release cord.

To manually open most garage doors you simply pull a corded handle that is attached to the door.
